Promotions: Fernando Colaci now promoted to Captain.

Tonight we’ll have two training segments; GROUND TEAM Level 3 (GT3), and GPS Photo Link.

STAFF ROSTER:

Operations, Mel Sheppard:
172 outside, ok to go with a warm up inside. 406 wing covers to Galena.

 

GPS/Photolink program has been purchased by Wing for all 20 Squadrons, Need someone to set up Training for all Polaris volunteers-Jennifer volunteered to set up on computer and present training soon. Desire to be operational ASAP.  Computer program will upload photos from almost any digital camera, and any gps, synchronize Lat/Long and label photos to make available for customers to view by password protected website.


Flight Operations; Erik Boltman- Aircraft Status:

Lots of hours, DHC-2 Beaver ready.


Emergency Services,
Udo Cassee-Wing SAREX, no money-Bring Cash., Next Guardian Angel flights March 1, 2010. 2/13 Saturday see Udo if available for Spin up Practice Missions-Photo Recon. Need Mission Ready crew.


Logistics, Frank Neil:
Charlie Ricci update, is now transferred to Providence extended care room #135- would welcome visitors, appears in good spirits, in wheel chair, not able to go home just yet.


Supplies, Chet Harris:

Transportation, Don Stedingh:
 Move snow before you fly airplanes. Ice ridge under hangar doors hazardous to a/c movement with tight clearances. See Don to get checked out on Diesel Plow if needed. Fuel spout, DF antennae, vertical prop position; watch carefully!  Snow blower has a fuel leak, Mel will get it to Lake hood Maintenance.  Bring shovel, bring chisel, bring snowblower if you intend to fly.


Personnel, Al Senese:
Pacific Region Staff College deadline is 2/15/2010 to attend at Nellis near Vegas-NV 3/27-04/1.


Professional Development, Angela Singluff/and Lyle Langston, Assistant:

If you need Level One training scenario discussion, contact Lyle at Lyle727@yahoo.com with any training questions or concerns.  Alaska air carriers will be 1st week of March. Exhibit is free.


Finance:
Annual dues are due. Checks are good, Cash is not. Please provide money soon, stays in Squadron funds, Wing only pays utilities, this provides Toilet paper to Coffee, trash bags, etc.


Public Affairs Jennifer Sherwin:
Camera available tonight for file photos of any members in proper uniform.  Requesting Photos of members to keep on file for Press Releases for Mission Information Officer for exercise and short bios. Please volunteer for next couple of meeting to wear uniforms, Or notify if flying to get photos done at that time, after next 3 weeks, photos will then become schedules.  We are best way to promote growth and recruitment.

System Administrator, Lou Jenks:
Mission Air Crew School Need two- three volunteers. Phone calls and letters for meal support donations and transporting same meals. Also need Raffle coordinator for GPS type donation to sell raffle tickets for. (Darcy?)  AK dates will be May 15-May 22. Tuition is $100.  Save $$ (NESA Airfare to Indiana, and Higher Tuition rates ($160.00) by getting MAS training right here in AK. Yes, it is all day, through whole week- intensive class and flying curriculum.  Possible MAS class locations: at Merrill Field at UAA building or Bryant at Ft. Richardson.  Further Announcements and invitations shall be coming from Wing HQ to all squadrons.


Cadet Programs, Chuck Berns
: 14 attended at last meeting, had a presentation on gun safety. Willing to come back for seniors meeting.  Appears most Seniors do carry survival fire arm.

Safety: No additional reports.

 

TRAINING GT3: OPS QUALS had program updates so now it looks different. Hopefully everyone took advantage of last week’s training and updated 1-4. Statewide exercise coming up in May: Would be great if we can increase number of Seniors that are ground Team qualified.  For GT Member Level 3- here a few training tasks that tonight we can all be signed off for.(101, 102, 103, 104) Carl Siebe can Sign off as trainer, use CAP # 138221.

  

SAFETY SPIEL: Hazards to dragging brakes and then taking off and still freezing upon higher altitude. Watch freeze thaw, slushy runways, ramps.
