Polaris Composite Squadron Meeting Notes  
March 25, 2008 

• CAP National has issued a revised property regulation, 67-1. If you loose or damage any CAP controlled property, the Squadron will have to account for the loss or damage, and probably replace the item.

   

• Remember OPSEC training is required by April 1 if you want to continue to use any e-services.

   

• AFJROTC Orientation Flights are authorized for 1 orientation flight only, front or back seat. The approvals are for flight syllabus 1 or 2 only. Enter WMIRS before the sortie to ensure funds are available.

   

• Construction on the road in front of the Squadron will resume on Thursday, March 27. The road will have sections periodically closed for utility construction.

   

• Aircraft availability
  • Beaver 79.3 hrs/100 hr 29.3 hrs/oil filter needs VOR check
  • C-206 80.4 hrs/100 hr 33.4 hrs/oil needs VOR check
  • C-185 47.5 hrs/both 100 hr and oil
  • C-182 47.3 hrs/both 100 hr and oil needs VOR check
  • C-172 is gone, do not know when we will get another

   

• Next Tuesday will be the briefing for the SAREX. The SAREX is scheduled for April 4-13.

   

• Keys to the van are missing. If you know where they are, hang them on the board.

   

• AF Directed/graded exercise will be in July. Practice exercises will be held in May and June. A Table Top exercise will be held in April.

   

• Angie has organized an ACE Academy this weekend. She has 20 students signed up, of which all will be signed up as Cadets and be eligible for orientation flights.

   

• The Challenger Learning Center has summer events listed on its brochures and web site.

   

• Color Guard competition will be held at Fort Richardson Armory on March 29. Come on out and support the Cadets.

   

• A Unit Commanders Course will be held April 9-12. Call Wing if you want to attend.

   

• Glen Morthorpe - Wing Safety Officer was our monthly guest speaker. Glen said Wing is considering a Safety Management System. Glen led a discussion of what to do in the case of a forced landing. If you have any safety suggestions, send them to Glen. He very seldom receives any suggestions from anyone.
