- Sue Drummond volunteered to contact Wal Mart for potential grants for CAP.
- May 3 and 4, 2008 is the Alaska Airman's Trade Show at the FedEx hanger at
Anchorage International. CAP will have a booth at the show. Wing is seeking
volunteers to set up the booth on Friday, man the booth Saturday and Sunday,
and take down the booth on Sunday afternoon. Call Leah at Wing if you are
able to help.
- Wing encampment is scheduled for late June to mid July, the exact dates
are not set. Wing is looking for Staff.
- June 28 and 29 is scheduled for the Elmendorf Air Show.

Activities
- Alaska Wing received a Congressional appropriation for survival gear and
training. We are supposed to get 100 cold water immersion suits, flotation
devices, survival vests, nomex flight suits, and some life rafts. Supply
will collect sizes of pilots and observers for the nomex flight suits.
- The CAP Sentinel newsletter is posted on e-services. A copy will be posted
on the bulletin board. Just go to our home page and click on e-services.
- The members whose memberships are expiring is posted.

- Mission numbers are available for February for A and B missions.
- A commanders conference will be held on April 13. Training for commanders
will take place April 9-13.
- Kevin has a printout of awards that you can nominate other deserving
members or possibly nominate yourself.
- The Arctic Care mission in Kodiak is open to all pilots and
observers.Initially the request was for IFR qualified pilots only.
- National Check Pilot Clinic has flyoff money to be spent by the end of
February.
- C-185 may have a battery or charging problem. Maintenance is checking on
it.
- SAREX – Thank you for inputting the missions into WMIRS.
- Angie - we are all responsible for our own specialty track. As we travel,
we need to promote CAP.
- Chuck needed to remind the membership about some safety forms – CAP Form
26 Safety Improvement and Hazard Report; FAA 8740-5 Hazard Report; and NASA
ASRS. Use these forms to report safety or hazard issues, or use the NASA
report to voluntarily report a violation of a regulation or rule as a way to
provide immunity from prosecution.
- Lou – offered thanks for the SAREX photos. The SAREX photos have been
posted to our website.
- Cadets are going on an outing with the boy scouts this Saturday.
- Skip provided the Safety Spiel.
- At uncontrolled airports CAP wants us to overfly the airport 500 feet
above pattern altitude, fly out and descend, and enter 45 degrees to the
end of the downwind for good visibility of others in the pattern.
