Polaris Composite Squadron Meeting Notes
November 6, 2007
- Christmas Party December 11. Time 6:30 PM. Cost $5 per
person or $10 per family. Michelle LaRose has been soliciting door
prizes. She is looking for suggestions for the party.
- Mission numbers for A and B missions for November are posted.
- Please review the document for membership expiration dates.-->Explist
- The FAA Safety Team is taking over the Medallion Flier Program. Time will
tell how well this will work.
- Wing Maintenance traded the ¾ ton white pickup with the snow plow for a 1
ton flat bed with a plow. Wing wanted something more maneuverable to plow
around the maintenance area.
- FAA posted a notice on a temporary military operations area (TMOA) on the
FAA web site, www.alaska.faa.gov/at <http://www.alaska.faa.gov/at>.
The also posted changes to class E airspace that people might be interested
in viewing.
- Skip reported the new parallel taxiway at Wasilla is open. This is a full
length parallel with access from both ends and the middle onto the runway.
- Mel reported the sewer line has been repaired. It was plugged with rocks
and gravel. The contractor used high pressure water and a vacuum truck to
clean out the line.

- The Beaver and C-185 that we anticipate for the squadron are
reported to
be in maintenance.
- A check pilot course is scheduled for November 23,24,25. There is still
room if someone needs to attend.
- The temperature gage in the van is still inoperative.
- A new wireless router was donated to the squadron by Kevin/s son-in-law.

- Angie presented the safety spiel. She handed out a starter list of some
handy emergency phone numbers. She also suggested putting ICE, or In Case of
Emergency in your cell phone database.
- The cadets had a successful outing this past weekend. They went to Jim
Creek and practiced building fires. Thanks to Arnold, Marc B, and Carl and
the two other parent helpers for helping to make this trip happen.
- Kevin requested that staff update your pictures on the organization board
downstairs at the squadron.
