Meeting Notes

June 19, 2007

 

COSTCO is downstairs with cookies doing a meet and greet for new customers.

 

Polaris Squadron is ungrounded. We completed a safety audit and sent the results to Wing in a letter.

 

Wing Cadet Encampment is 24 July to 3 August. Deadlines for both cadets

and senior staff positions is June 30. Please help out if you can.

 

All flight hours for A, B, &C missions must be submitted to WIMRS. All

future SAREX flights must also be loaded into WIMRS. More information on

submitting to WIMRS was requested by Skip.

 

ARCHER training will be offered to AK Wing members. If you wish to be

considered, please see Kevin or Doug.

 

The Squadron cleanup was last Saturday. Thank you to all who

participated. The facility looks much better.

Pilots are requested to read the Pilot Read File on reporting

discrepancies. Phil noted that Al did call him with C-172 issues.

 

A list of all aircraft tire pressures is posted on the wall by the Form 99.

 

Safety It is hot and fire season is upon us. If fighting a fire,

attack the base of the fire.

 

Medical quick lesson on sprains and strains. A sprain is a joint hyper

extension. A strain is muscular related. IF an injury occurs, apply ice

the first 24 hours. After 24 hrs, alternate heat and ice. Rest an injury

so it can heal.

 

Kevin and John Muschler are attending the inland SAR school.

 

Safety Spiel was presented by Karen Hursh. Be careful when out in the

sun to prevent sun burn. Wear proper clothing or sun screen.

 

Kevin offered a final heartfelt thought for all members. Please review

safety procedures. Develop good personal safety habits.
