Polaris Composite Squadron Meeting Notes
June 12, 2007
- Wing has issued a Wing wide safety stand down. No ground or air
operations are authorized until further notice except those missions
necessary to protect life and property. See the Wing letter for details.
The letter states the safety stand down is prompted by multiple events
including 10 incidents or accidents over the past 18 months. Each
squadron must perform an internal safety audit to resume operations. Stand

- Mission numbers for A and B missions for June are posted on the board.
- A Safety Notice was received from National. Some Aircraft keys can be
removed from the ignition switch with the key in the HOT position. It is
mandatory to check all aircraft in the fleet for this condition.
- June 19 COSTCO is to give a presentation to the squadron.
- A squadron cleanup and BBQ will be this Saturday.
- Aircraft availability
- C-172 80.2 hrs/100 hr 30.2 hrs/oil - This aircraft is
currently grounded for inoperative stall horn.
- Beaver 25.2 hrs/100 hr and oil
- Bearington Irving will be at the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum this
Thursday from 11-2
- The Air Force presented a scholarship check to our Cadet Commander to
go to Emery Riddle for 4 years. Congratulations.
- Safety Spiel presented by Matt Nedum. Give people room in the pattern.
Mix of fast and slow aircraft create conflicts in the pattern. Adjust
speed so everybody has their turn.
