Polaris Composite Squadron Meeting Notes  
May 22, 2007  

• Results of SUI inspection are in. Most specialty tracts got an acceptable. We had two marginal with only one finding that needs answered.
  
  
• Tuesday May 29 will be the safety briefing for the SAREX on Jun 1-10.
  
  
• Aircraft availability
  • C-172  was leaking oil and was returned to maintenance for repairs.
  • Beaver 40.4 hrs/100 hr and oil. Skis should be removed this week.

   

• Be sure to sign in on the computer to get credit for tonight's safety briefing.

   

• Cadets have had 4 new members this month.

   

• Glider encampment will be June 2-9 at Clear AFB.

   

• AK Wing Cadet Encampment is scheduled for July 24-Aug 3.

   

• A Squadron cleanup and cookout was scheduled to be held Saturday June 16 starting at 9 AM. Please bring a potluck dish to share.

   

• New soda machine at the squadron was donated. It needs to be reprogrammed.

   

• Monthly safety briefing was given by Carl Siebe. Carl talked about the FAA reauthorization plan including the user fees, fuel taxes, and shift of revenue to other user groups.

   

• The Wing float plane clinic will be June 1 from 7-9 PM at OAS presented by Bart Stone. Flying is planned for Saturday. A Beaver and C-185 are available. To get a check ride you must be already float rated.
