Cadet Programs - the Cadets are having a BBQ on Memorial Day. They will also go to the National
Cemetery on Ft. Richardson to help direct traffic.
Carl Siebe presented the safety spiel. His talk was a review of the 7 Steps to Survival.
The 7 steps to survival were promoted by Ray Trembley, an instructor for the USFWS many years ago. They are:
1) Recognition
2) Inventory
3) Signaling
4) Shelter
5) Water
6) Food
7) Play
Fire is an important element of items 3-7 which is why we try and teach fire craft to the Cadets.
This summer encampment is postponed. We will be planning for a winter encampment over Christmas break. However, we will be having a Cadet activity May 31-June 2 at Camp Gorsuch.
The Glider program is looking for assistance with the glider encampment May 23 - June 1.
